History/Herstory/ Theirstory Reflection1) A sign of Hope
2) What inspired my project was how my culture viewed good luck. My ideas came from myself with the help of the concept of the history piece. 3) How this relates to my culture is how we view good luck or a sign of hope ( hence the title ). This dates back to many many years ago, when we go off into a new year and leave the previous year behind we like to plant some seeds in a pot and let it grow into the new year as a symbolism of good luck or hope. As if we were leaving whatever bad or good that happened in the previous year and move on to the next. 4) I used small pompoms as the grass to symbolize the soil. Bendable wire for the stem and sticks as the plant body and I used all sorts of flowers that symbolizes the beautiful plant that has grown. I had then created a desk and an old rusty book shelf with jewels in it to symbolize that money doesn’t matter in all cases when the main focus was the plant. 5) The main image of this art piece is a tree in the centre of a dark room followed by a desk and a bookshelf with jewels in the background. This relates to the meaning of good luck and hope that we move forward with to the new year. 6) That the main focus in life is to spread good luck and hope to make yours or someone’s day, week, month or year better. 7) For my point of view on my project towards my culture I would think it’s very much so successful and does portray the image I was trying to show. I feel like it does show an understanding from someone else’s point of view with the title given ( A sign of Hope ). 8) I would personally give myself a 10/10 on creativity. To me it was original on the sense that I hadn’t seen it anywhere else and that I had came up with the main idea and design. The idea that I’m trying to communicate with the audience would be very clear with the title I had given it. 9) I would give the art piece an 8/10 on crafts(wo)manship due to feeling like there could’ve been more detail added to it but I would have rather not taken focus away from the tree which was the main point. |
